I just bought a scanner-printer, and as a result, can finally start scanning my late grandmother's legacy: a large pile of knitting magazines from the 1970-80s, featuring some of the most god-awful designs known to (wo)man.
(note: I'm also PDFing all the scanned patterns, but they're in Hebrew, and are therefore useless to you all).

The added benefit: much potential for this little YKW community!

For my virgin post here, allow me to feature the sweater (circa 1975) that is guaranteed to test your man's love to you (especially if you get him these lovely matching pants and shirt). On the other hand, it might also help you make sure he's not color-blind.

Due to popular demand, pattern PDF can be found here: (reminder: its in Hebrew)

Who says the directions being in Hebrew would be useless. There are plenty of Jews who have at least minimal skills here, I'm sure!

could be... altho i think this might require a little more than minimal skills. and this is very archaic language.

(and personally, even i, being a Hebrew speaker in Israel, can't stand knitting based on Hebrew instructions, since i'm now more used to the English terms than Hebrew ones)

ah! in that case... until I set up a proper blogthing for this, its is just being dumped onto my Hebrew blog because it amuses me. So here you go....

Here's Mr. Orange: (also added the link to this post)

And here's a fabooolous cape, which I'm not sure is hideous enough to post here:

And a quick (ancient and basic) terminology recap for you:
שיפוד=מסרגה=knitting needle
צנורה=מסרגה אחת=crochet needle
ימין=Knit
שמאל=Purl
פטנט=rib
קאפישון=hood
קורדון=prolly an i-cord

Needle sizes are in mm

Common yarn ball size at the time was 50gr., sadly, not all the patterns bothered to specify weight or total length, so good luck with that!
